Baby Bellies and Beyond

I was thinking about all things a pregnant women or new mommy does to preserve tradition for her children. Though my son is only 6 months old we dressed him all up and took him to a pumpkin patch, where we took endless pictures of him, we then came home and sat him in his highchair right next to the table while Dh and I carved the pumpkins. When my son got cranky and carving was becoming less fun my DH asked, exactly why did we do this…. my answer……….because it is tradition.

During my pregnancy I followed family traditions. My mother wrote a journal about her pregnancies and so did I. My grandmother swore that it was tradition for the parents of the new baby to get him or her a piggy bank and it must have money it for placed in the room. So my dear husband and I did it….. we listened because it is tradition.
